Program

Day 1

  • Meeting at the international airport «Zvartnots» Transfer and check in at a hotel
    Walking sightseeing excursion through Yerevan, when you can see the main sights of Yerevan: Square of Republic, Northern avenue to Swan lake and the Opera house, than climb by the famous cascades to the observation point to enjoy the marvelous view over Yerevan and the Bible mountain of Ararat
    Excursion to the legendary carper factory «Megeryan»
    Culinary workshop when you can learn about preparation of traditional Armenain dishes such as «Borani Tavusha»(veal with prunes, chestnuts and onions), the Lusakert salad (chicken breast with cheese and vegetable sauce, with chips of lavash)
    Diner including degustation of the prepared dishes (+150 cl. of wine per person)
    Overnight stay in the hotel in Yerevan

Day 2

  • Garni - Gegard – Cognac factory «Ararat»
    Breakfast in the hotel
    Departure to Gegard (4-13 centuries), then the excursion continues to the ancient temple of Garni (the 1st century)
    Lunch in a local restaurant, workshop of making the Armenian lavash
    Coming back to Yerevan, visiting of the cognac factory «Ararat» (1887),where you can learn about the history of this legendary drink and will try some of its classes
    Diner in the tavern Yerevan – relaxed and friendly atmosphere with voices of Armenian folk instruments and best Armenian cuisine with dishes of your choice – and Armenian dairy soup – spas or pomegranate soup with beef «Nrane», and khashlama of veal or lamb by the summer art, and kyufta, salads «Urmia» and «Erebuni», house wines and compotes of local berries
    Overnight stay in the hotel in Yerevan

     

Day 3

  • Gyumri - Aragats
    Breakfast in the hotel
    Departure to the north-west of Armenia, to tjhe second largest city of – Gyumri. Sightseeing through the city which was restored after the terrible earthquake of 1988
    Lunch in «Cherkezi Dzor» - a picturesque restaurant famous with its local fish assortment, from trout and whitefish to salmon prepared by a marvelous art, all this with lavash made in tandyr with fresh greenery.
    Transfer to a hotel situated on the Aragats mountain slope, overnight stay in this hotel

Day 4

  • Aragats – Lake Sevan – village Tsakhkunk
    Breakfast in the hotel
    Transfer to the lake Sevan - the second largest mountain lake in the world, situated at 1900 m. above sea level
    Lunch in restaurant Tsovatsots on the lake shore including degustation of kebab of crayfish necks and local homemade vodka
    Excursion to the Sevan peninsula and the Sevanavank complex with marvelous lake view
    Transfer to village Tsakhkunk, culinary workshop and degustation of Armenian dishes in a village house of Tsakhkunk and overnight stay

Day 5

  • Tsakhkunk - Tsakhkadzor
    Transfer to Tsakhkadzor – ski resort
    Degustation of traditional Armenian khash
    Walking through picturesque places of Tsakhkadzor, visiting of the Kecharis complex (11-13 centuries).
    Visiting the ski resort (for additional payment lifting by the cableway is possible)
    Diner in a local restautant, including tasting dishes of rabbits, khorovats of chicken, arishta (local homemade noodles), shila – rice porridge, lavash and puri bread right from a tandyr, as well aroma tea with mint and thyme
    Overnight stay in a hotel in Tsakhkadzor

Day 6

  • Check out from the hotel. Transfer to Yerevan. Transfer to airport
